GRACE PLANT
Well, my background lies in gospel - the best singers in the world are from that genre. I started singing when I was about 2 - singing in church.
When I was 15 I joined the Merribells Gospel Choir. We toured Europe and I sang my first lead in Buxton at a Festival. We sang at the Albert Hall with Stevie Wonder amongst other places, to numerous to recount.
I left all of that and pursued an academic career. I have a BA (Hons) in Business Studies, a PGCE in teaching further, adult and higher education, and a MA in Human Resource Management. I completed 3 years of my PhD, publishing academic papers, book chapters and disseminating my research at conferences relating to Work Psychology. I taught undergraduates at Loughborough University.
Two years ago my PhD lost it's flavour, then my mother died. Just as I was about to give it up and go to India and Nepal, I met Martin and married him. His creativity has inspired me. If you listen to his music and read his bio you'll understand. I started writing poetry and have a book published. I am also an International Poet of Merit and Honoured Member of the International Society of Poets.
I love singing. On May 7th 2007, Martin my husband gave me my first guitar lesson; and now I love playing and singing Two weeks after my first lesson I wrote 'Remember'. There is another song on the way called 'My Love Grows', but I seem to be stuck in a blues haze, although the song has formed a cube in my mind. Having my own guitar would ease the process along! My website is where you can listen to 'Remember' and two other traditional songs, 'Amazing Grace' and 'Farther Along', which I recorded in an acapella style.
