Miranda Quammie
Miranda Quammie grew up in Stoke Newington and St. Vincent, and writes captivating folk-tinged melodies, which she performs at the piano. She has been performing live regularly in London since late August 2005 and has played booked gigs at venues such as The Bedford, The Hope and Anchor, The Betsey Trotwood, The Slaughtered Lamb - and Blush.
Her music is very emotions-based but rarely touches on romantic love: “I’m interested in reaching the boundaries of my imagination, in themes of childhood, cultural identity, and historical narratives that relate to facets of my background.” Such themes can be found in songs such as ‘Midnight Garden’ and ‘The Apprentice Strain’ that feature on her myspace.
She is currently recording her first album in her bedroom, which will be available by October through her website.
