Ali Wright is a singer who sings from the heart and touches those who become captured in her tales of love. Touching on her own life experience, the frankness in her songs hits home and takes you to another place where you can be wooed by gentle strumming of her guitar. A passionate performer who reveals herself through her songs, you can do nothing more than to listen in awe as you travel though the rich well crafted songs. An early love of music inspired Ali to start playing guitar at the age of nine and she quickly developed a passion for song-writing. Her musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Joan Armatrading and Melissa Etheridge, but she enjoys and appreciates music from many different genres.

In the 1980’s she performed at the Derby Playhouse and bars and folk clubs in and around Derby, where she grew up.

In 1999, she received a BEd. Honours in Combined Arts and worked as a Primary School Teacher. Her love of music never left her and in 2002, she left full-time teaching to concentrate on developing her skills as a singer-songwriter.

Inspired by life’s emotional journeys, her evocative lyrics and catchy melodies successfully captivate the listener. She has a beautiful voice of exceptional quality; it is warm, soft, strong and rich. The tone of her vocals gives an excellent emotional impact and the vocals carry the meaning of the songs right to the heart.

Ali writes acoustic ballads and rock songs. She formed a rock band in 2003, but is presently concentrating on her solo acoustic material. She performs in bars around Nottingham and always receives an excellent response from the audience. She was recently interviewed and had one of her tracks played on BBC Radio Derby, where she also gave a live performance. Ali loves to perform live and is now looking to broaden her horizons. She is now planning a UK tour.
