Loren Scott

 Reviews

Loren Scott is ace. From the dominatrix hauteur of 'collective' through bittersweet confessional, electro filth ('menschen fresser'), chanteuse, but mostly pure punk, every performance is confident and arresting.

Beats and keyboards are trashy and witty - the jaunty bossa nova that frames the Kirsty McCall-alike 'T-cut' - and support the vocals with elan...Attitude conquers all. - TASTY Fanzine

Every now and then you hear an artist and your ears prick up.

Loren Scott reminds me of a painter more than a musician. It’s the way she mounts her music together in an almost collage fashion. It’s clever. The songs are brave. It’s people like Loren who try to break down the barriers and find new ground. - VRS

Good punchy Rock with a female voice to die for...

this is on the edge and good stuff, Keep Rockin' - IAC

Loren Scott debut album Secular Ethics was recorded at Escapade Studio in Greenwich, London by local producer Gary Brady. Loren, generally known as a solo performer, linked up with Gary to initially record a stripped demo version of the tracks which appear on the final album.

The studio chemistry between the two saw the process escalate far beyond its initial parameters, and drummer/percussionist Guy Whitby was drafted in to complete the studio line up.

The bare bones for the tracks on Secular Ethics (guitar & vocal in main), were penned by Loren during the previous few years to recording, reflecting on personal and social issues which had begged her attention...

"A full album, worked & finished to the degree it has been, was really something of a stellar accident. It’s evolution in the studio grew out of control. The tracks

were all fitting together like pieces of a puzzle, with the running order becoming incredibly important for conveying a journey to clearer value for me...

(The album title came from reflection on that thought process). The ideas myself and Mr. Brady had in terms of production, lifted the whole scenario to a different level."
